Event Summary
- E-Series controller(s) detected a corruption in Vital Product Data (VPD) located in Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM).
- The VPD EEPROM stores hardware configuration information (i.e Part Number, Serial Number) for E-Series systems, and corruption can lead to various problems.
Validate
- The system event log under Support > Events reports a critical "VPD EEPROM corruption" event.
- Identify any recent maintenance activities (i.e Power outage) on the system.
Resolution
- In the event of a recent maintenance activity, try rebooting the controller using Reset option in SANtricity System Manager or power cycle.
