What are drive reconstruction and rebalance during drive failure in DDP
Applies to
- E-Series
- Dynamic Disk Pools (DDP)
Answer
- When drive fail, the system first perform drive(volume) reconstruction and when faulty drive replaced, the drive rebalance start.
- Disk pool itself contains integrated preservation capacity to provide drive reconstruction when drive fail.
- After drive replacement, the data from the existing drives will be dynamically rebalanced on to the new drive.
