E-Series pending configuration alert on controllers during upgrade and controller lockdown

  • Upgrading Controller Firmware (CFW) from 08.20.19.30 to 08.25.20.30 on E5500
  • Upgrading SANtricity OS from 11.70.4R1 to 11.80.GA on E2800

Issue

  • One of the controller failed during performing CFW upgrade: 
MEL Event - "6107 - This controller's alternate is non-functional and is being held in reset".
  • New CFW version is listed as Pending configuration on both controllers in STORAGE-ARRAY-PROFILE > CONTROLLERS
