E-Series faulty drawer causes SAS_PORT_FAILED and Unknown status of StorageGRID node

Issue

  • SANtricity System Manger reporting the followings:
    • DISK_POOL_RECONSTRUCTION_DRIVE_COUNT_BELOW_THRESHOLD-Recovery Failure Type Code: 424
    • SAS_PORT_FAILED-Recovery Failure Type Code: 113
    • UNKNOWN_COMPONENT_STATUS-Recovery Failure Type Code: 61
      Note: Multiple entries of this with location to a specific drawer
      Example: Location: Controller/Drive Shelf 99 Drawer 5 A1
    • WB_CACHING_FORCIBLY_DISABLED-Recovery Failure Type Code: 378
    • VOLUME_GROUP_INCOMPLETE-Recovery Failure Type Code: 201
      Note: Should have Shelf: field matching the shelf of the UNKNOWN_COMPONENT_STATUS location
      Example:  Shelf: Controller/Drive shelf 99, Drawer 5
    • SAS_PORT_FAILED-Recovery Failure Type Code: 113
  • All disks in the affected drawer is missing
  • Storage node reporting Unknown state in StorageGRID Grid Manager
  • Storage > POOLS & VOLUME GROUPS in SANtricity System Manger indicates the status of the disk pool as Failed
