StorageGRID reports an alert as Local clock large time offset

Issue

StorageGRID reports the below alert.

"Local Clock large time offset"

"The offset between local clock and Network Time Protocol (NTP) time is too large"

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Verify the NTP servers using the command ntpq -pn (more info about the output).
  2. If the NTP servers are not responding, restart the ntp service, service ntp restart
  3. Check the startum count where the count should be less or equal to 3.
  4. Re-configure the NTP servers if the NTP servers are in INIT state.
