COTV-8864: Bug public information is not yet available.
Issue
After ONTAP Tools for VMware vSphere (OTV) completes a recovery operation (backup/restore or post-upgrade steps), the environment can appear partially healthy while the vCenter plug-in is missing inventory:
• Datastores, VMs, and storage backend details do not appear in the vCenter OTV plug-in.
• OTV Manager may still show vCenter registration and a storage backend count.
• Storage backend discovery can fail.
• New datastore creation can fail with TLS/certificate errors, for example:
• Cluster is Unreachable: PKIX path building failed … unable to find valid certification path to requested target
• tls: failed to verify certificate: x509: certificate signed by unknown authority
After an upgrade, the appliance can remain in Degraded state even though the plug-in and OTV Manager show the new version. Post-upgrade patching of vCenter can fail with HTTP 400 or 500 errors when updating plug-in metadata.
These symptoms were observed in QA backup/restore testing and in a customer upgrade from 10.4 to 10.5P2
