Unable to send e-mails from DFM

Issue

User configured

  • The Data Fabric Manager (DFM) alarms to send an e-mail on a triggering event (in this case, user quota) 
  • The mail server to send the e-mail notifications to the administrator account

The DFM logs show the following error:

Jul 11 08:45:48 [server-name] dfmeventd: alarm [alarm id], event [event id]: failed to deliver email alert to [email address]. took 0 seconds.

The mail server displays the following error:
