HCI compute node stuck in boot loop after installing FW bundle

Applies to

  • NetApp HCI compute nodes
  • Up to compute node firmware (FW) bundle
  • Automated FW upgrade with HCC
  • Manual FW upgrade with ISO file

Issue

  • After FW upgrade is complete, the compute node is in a boot loop (more than 10 times) before loading ESXi
  • With every subsequent reboot/power-off the boot loop repeats

Note:
In some cases, this issue has been reported to occur when rebooting on another day after the FW upgrade is complete.
