Yes, It can work

Additional Information

Although it can work with a different MTU, you have to:
  1. Enable the Path MTU discovery in your switch
  2. Be sure the MTU between the clusters and the Gateway routers is 9000
  3. If the connection is behind a firewall or a proxy, you need to open the required ports
