Answer

Each collector transfers data as follows:
  • User access events via Data Collector
  1. User accesses data
  2. ONTAP sends the access information as notifications to Data Collector on Agent server using FPolicy feature 
  3. Data Collector forwards the notifications to Cloud Insights Storage Workload Security
  4. Cloud Insights Workload Security analyzes the received notifications
  • Directory data via User Directory Collector
  1. When starting, User Directory Collector synchronizes directory data from Windows Active Directory (AD) or Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)  to Cloud Insights Storage Workload Security
  2. User Directory Collector resynchronizes the directory data every 12 hours automatically
