'SensorReadingFailed': IPMI diagnostics are currently unresponsive on Element software

Issue

NetApp SolidFire Active IQ reports the following alert:

  • On NetApp Element software 12.7:
    • sensorReadingFailed: IPMI diagnostics are currently unresponsive. Please contact support if this problem persists.
    • BmcSelfTestFailed: BMC Self Test failed. This may impact IPMI based services and a BIOS/BMC update may be recommended.
  • On NetApp Element software 12.5:
    • sensorReadingFailed: IPMI diagnostics are currently unresponsive. Please contact support if this problem persists.
    • BmcSelfTestFailed: BMC Self Test failed. This may impact IPMI based services and a BIOS/BMC update may be recommended.
  • On NetApp Element software 12.3:
    • sensorReadingFailed: IPMI diagnostics are currently unresponsive. Please contact support if this problem persists.
    • sensorReadingFailed: BMC Self Test failed. This may impact IPMI based services and a BIOS/BMC update may be recommended.
  • On NetApp Element software 12.2:
    • nodeOffline: The SolidFire Application cannot communicate with node ID <#>.
    • Only a single complete copy of the block data is accessible. Restore any offline nodes or block services or contact support for assistance.
  • On Element software 11.x and higher:
    • nodeOffline: The SolidFire Application cannot communicate with node ID <#>.
    • sensorReadingFailed: IPMI diagnostics are currently unresponsive. Please contact support if this problem persists.
    • sensorReadingFailed: BMC Self Test failed. This may impact IPMI based services and a BIOS/BMC update may be recommended.
  • On Element software 10.x or earlier:
    • sensorReadingFailed: BMC Self Test failed. This may impact IPMI based services and a BIOS/BMC update may be recommended.
