When trying to map LUNs to a windows host the iSCSI initiator is not able to create the session.

Checking the storage end:
  • LUN is mapped.
  • Igroup contains the correct Initiator IQN
  • iSCSI service is up.
  • Ping works from and to ONTAP iSCSI LIFs.
  • When checking  System Windows event logs, we can see the event Event Id: 5 Source: iScsiPrt
  • When checking the iSCSI initiator properties >Favorite targets, we can see multiple targets of which some are not valid anymore.
