Applies to

  • E5700/ EF570 and E2800/ EF280 having 25GB iSCSI HIC with E-series controller OS 11.60.2 or newer
  • Host interface cards (HIC)
  • AutoCode Sync (ACS)
  • Replacement controller has 11.60.1 or older firmware.

Issue

  • Autosupport triggered below alerts on iSCSI HIC after both controllers replaced

E-Series Notification (Loss of host-side connection redundancy detected) CRITICAL
E-Series Notification (Host multipath driver configuration error detected) CRITICAL

  • Storage Array Profile shows MAC addresses used by the controllers having only two unique MAC addresses for all eight ports.

Example as below:

Controller in Shelf 99, Bay A
      Host interface:                                       iSCSI
         Host Interface Card(HIC):                          1
         Channel:                                           5
         Port:                                              0e
         Link status:                                       Connected
         MAC address:                                       be:ef:de:ad:be:ef

This behavior was not observed prior to replacement of controllers:
