MDV = MetaData Volume

MDV_CRS*

  • Volumes that start with MDV_CRS are metadata volumes that contain configuration information in relation to MetroCluster
  • There will be one MDV_CRS volume per node in this configuration
  • These volumes are created during the MetroCluster configuration setup process: Implementing the MetroCluster configuration
  • They will be automatically created and hosted on a suitabledata aggregate depending on your setup and configuration from above
  • If necessary you can move these volumes to another eligible aggregate: Moving a metadata volume in MetroCluster configurations

 

MDV_aud*

  • Volumes that start with MDV_aud are staging volumes used to store auditing information before they are consolidated to the appropriate system volumes that were created/specified during auditing setup
  • There is one staging volume per aggregate
