METROCLUSTER SWITCHOVER FAILED - negotiated switchover incomplete

Issue

  • After initiating a negotiated switchover (NSO), the operation fails with an error message
Example:
Cluster_A::> metrocluster operation show

       Operation: switchover
           State: successful
      Start Time: 5/24/2023 06:35:38
        End Time: 5/24/2023 06:35:44
          Errors: Failed to execute the switchover operation for the node components. Cluster_A (fatal): Unable to determine the result of the negotiated switchover operation for the remote nodes. Ensure the remote nodes are shut down and then retry the switchover operation with the "-forced-on-disaster true" option.
 
  • The MetroCluster is in an inconsistent state
Example:

  • Switchover simulate was successful a matter of seconds/minutes before the NSO operation
