Answer
When an error is encountered during normal I/O and if the power control capability is enabled for the disk, power cycle will occur. The following are the error conditions that will cause the disk to power cycle:
- General SCSI hardware error.
- Seagate SCSI IOEDC error.
- Invalid SCSI sense.
- An I/O timed out twice.
