Description

  • A controller undergoes a forced environmental shutdown if:
    • The environmental sensor values are outside of the operating range as specified in the NetApp Hardware Universe.
    • If there are issues with SP/BMC, that can cause problems with reading those environmental sensor values.

WARNING

  • Before proceeding with the node boot, it is recommended to determine why the node went down in the first place.
  • Booting the node without fixing the underlying issue jeopardizes data integrity.
  • This KB describes the procedure of booting the system after encountering an environmental shutdown.
