Cluster join fails with IP address conflict

  • Unable to join a node to the cluster.
::*> cluster setup

System checks .Error: The joining node is using address "" in IPspace "Default", but this address conflicts with the address used by a different joining node (uuid "fa86f9b6-4a35-11ed-8831-d039ea975b4c"). Use the "network interface modify" command to assign a different address to one of the two LIFs, then try the command again.

Resolve the issue, then try the command again.

Restarting Cluster Setup

  • The IP address is not used by other nodes.
