Path redundancy degraded alerts receiving continuously on ESXi host side

Issue

  • ESXi host continuously getting below alert on VMware side.

because Path redundancy to storage device naa.600a098xxxxxx46c3f515xxxxxxxx degraded. Path vmhba2:C0:xx:xx0 is down. Affected datastores: xxx-NetApp-xyz..

  • FC LUNs are mapped to these hosts from NetApp storage.
  • There are no disruptions seen at host side due to these alerts.
  • Alerts are being generated very frequently at host side almost 3 hours or so.
  • LUNs at storage side are online, mapped and no errors observed in EMS logs during the issue timestamp.
  • FC ports are all up and Rx, Tx values are in optimal range.
  • Brocade switch log analysis indicated an issue with port between switch & NetApp storage.
  • Switchshow reports the port as online
