Answer

In the first phase of Wafliron, it will unmount the aggregate and associated volumes and remount them once several baseline checks are completed.

Wafliron's first phase:

  • Restricts client access to volumes.
  • Could temporarily cause an unresponsive console.
  • May take up to 30-60 minutes to complete.
  • Completion allows serving data while Wafliron continues to check the remaining data.

Note: The time the storage system will spend in the first phase is difficult to estimate due to the number of contributing factors on the aggregate and volumes. These factors include:

  • Number of Snapshot copies
  • Number of files
  • Size of the aggregate/volumes
  • RAID group size
  • Physical data layout
  • Ongoing RAID reconstructions
  • Number of LUNs in the root of the volume
