Brocade switch unable to boot with the fatal CF card failure

Issue

  • Unable to boot the switch. Switch console shows the following error:

kernel: : hda: task_in_intr: error=0x44 { DriveStatusError UncorrectableError }, LBAsect=1676819, sector=1675819
A fatal CF card failure has been detected. The system will be rebooted. Please contact your service provider for CF card replacement
 

  • printenv from the command shell/boot menu shows the CFCardState=bad

=> printenv
AutoLoad=yes
BootromVerbose=no
CFCardState=bad
