  • No, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) processors aren't supported with ONTAP Select.
  • When planning your VMware environment for ONTAP Select, several hardware requirements and planning considerations must be taken into account.
Core Hardware Requirements:
  • The physical hypervisor host where ONTAP Select is deployed must meet several hardware requirements.
  • Any platform can be chosen for the hypervisor host, provided it meets the minimum hardware requirements.
  • Supported hardware platform vendors include Cisco, Dell, HP, Fujitsu, Lenovo, and Supermicro.
Note: Beginning with ONTAP Select 9.9.1, only CPU models based on Intel Xeon Sandy Bridge or later are supported. Refer to the NetApp Interoperability Matrix Tool for more information.
