Issue

When attempting to create a new ONTAP cluster using ONTAP Deploy (version 9.18.1 GA), on a ESX with 3000 or more network portgroups :

  • The deployment process freezes for approximately 30 minutes during the network selection phase.
  • The dropdown list for selecting networks becomes unresponsive
  • after the freeze both the networks and storage pools list remain blank, preventing cluster creation.
  • The CLI and API are also unavailable during this period and only become responsive again after a VM reboot.
