Issue

  • Commvault Media Agent is unable to communicate with ONTAP
  • EMS logging will show:

secd: secd.cifsAuth.problem:error: vserver (<vserver>) General CIFS authentication problem. Error: User authentication procedure failed CIFS SMB2 Share mapping - Client Ip = <client ip> **[     0] FAILURE: CIFS authentication failed

  • SECD logging will show:

RESULT_ERROR_SECLIB_BAD_MARSHAL_FORMAT
Found Buffer1 size 0x8297, Buffer2 size 0xe208, Expected both to be same
RESULT_ERROR_SECLIB_NTLMSSP_UNMARSHAL_AUTHENTICATE
Logged unhandled CIFS failure code '7114'
