Certain applications performing security-related operations over SMB may encounter STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED errors when invoking the LsarOpenPolicy2 Remote Procedure Call (RPC) against NetApp ONTAP systems. This issue typically arises when the application requests access using the MAXIMUM_ALLOWED access mask during the LsarOpenPolicy2 call.
