Will changing storage efficiency from default to efficient cause CPU utilization?

Answer

  • Yes, an increase in CPU is noticed upon enabling the TSSE, as it is costly when it comes to CPU consumption.
  • However, the increased CPU utilization is marginal for ONTAP  9.13.1 or below, and 9.16.1 and above
  • There is no option to control the utilization before enabling the efficient mode
