All versions of ONTAP or Data ONTAP

Answer

  • No
  • Raid scrubs, as configured by default, are made to do background checking for media or parity issues.
  • Starting in 2003, a feature was introduced to check the disk load in bug 73250 to Data ONTAP 6.5.2
    • Since that older release, Data ONTAP and now ONTAP provide heavy throttling of raid scrubs in the presense of user work or other backgroud work such as SnapMirror or deduplication
