"asup.aods.response.timeOut" error occurs temporarily

Issue

  • EMS logs report the following errors from all nodes or one node occasionally:

Mon May 15 23:58:33 +0900 [node1: notifyd: asup.aods.response.timeOut:error]: AutoSupport OnDemand Server (AODS) response was not received before the 30 second time limit.
Tue May 16 00:32:57 +0900 [node2: notifyd: asup.aods.response.timeOut:error]: AutoSupport OnDemand Server (AODS) response was not received before the 30 second time limit.

  • When checking the status by the command below, a timeout error can be found in the proxy:

::> autosupport check show-details -check-type ondemand-server
Category: on-demand
          Component: ondemand-server
             Status: failed
             Detail: AutoSupport OnDemand connectivity check failed for destination: https://support.netapp.com/aods/asupmessage via proxy - <proxy name>. Error: Timeout was reached when connecting to the server - 'support.netapp.com'
  Corrective Action: Possible network configuration issue. Ensure that you have network connectivity Node: <node name>

  • However, by the later check, the timeout error gets resolved by itself:

::> autosupport check show-details -check-type ondemand-server
Node: <node name>

Category: on-demand
          Component: ondemand-server
             Status: ok
             Detail: Successfully connected to:
                     https://support.netapp.com/aods/asupmessage.

  • All types of AutoSuport logs (daily, weekly and even user-triggered) are received successfully.
