When implementing inline deduplication for volumes deduplicated by post-deduplication, is the data deduplicated by post-processing not considered?

Answer

  • Yes, the data deduplicated by post-processing are not considered by Inline deduplication.
  • Inline deduplication only processes the data temporarily saved in cache memory.
  • Inline deduplication doesn't deduplicate the data already saved on disk which has been processed by post-deduplication.
