Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • Automated Non-Disruptive Update (ANDU)
  • FlexCache
  • SVM disaster recovery (SVMDR)

Issue

  • Flexcache origin volumes exist on the affected cluster, the vserver can be an R/W-origin or a DP-origin:

cluster1_origin::*> vol flexcache origin config show
Origin-Vserver   Origin-Volume    Is-BLI-Enabled  Is-Global-File-Locking-
                                                  Enabled
---------------  ---------------  --------------  --------------
svm_origin       vol_origin       false           false

  • ANDU pre-check validation fails for FLexcache writeback check on a Flexcache origin-cluster with error:

There are one or more FlexCache volumes with writeback option enabled pointing to the origin in this cluster.

  • Validating the Flexcache volumes on the peered Flexcache cache-cluster shows that writeback is disabled:

cluster3_cache::*> volume flexcache config show -fields is-writeback-enabled
vserver   volume    is-writeback-enabled
--------- --------- --------------------
svm_cache vol_cache false

  • SVMDR relationship for the Flexcache origin volumes exists or did exist and the relationship still is or at some time in past was broken-off.
  • The affected cluster can either be the SVMDR source or destination.
