Root volume migration failed with error "Failed to relocate one or more aggregates on node"

Issue

  • During root aggregate migration, the aggregate relocation operation fails with the following error message in the event logs:

Tue Apr 20 05:57:35 [ClusterA-1: sfo_arl_worker: aggr.relocation.failed:error]: Relocation of aggregate aggr_1 failed by node Nodename because aggregate is offline.

  • As the aggregate relocation fails, the root aggregate migration operation is also terminated:

Tue Apr 20 05:58:34 [CusterA-1: mgwd: migrate.root.failed:error]: Root aggregate migration failed on node Node. Reason: Failed to relocate one or more aggregates on node "Nodename"..
Tue Apr 20 05:58:34 [ClusterA-1: mgwd: mgmtgwd.jobmgr.jobcomplete.failure:info]: Job "Migrate root aggregate" [id XXXX] (Root aggregate migration job for node Node-name) completed unsuccessfully: Failed to relocate one or more aggregates on node "Nodename". (1).
