Issue

  • After a motherboard replacement and installation of a new license key, the customer observed below issue:

The license name for one node displayed as “ONTAPONE” and for another node as “ONTAPOnewithEncryption”, causing confusion about feature entitlement.

Example log output (from system license show):

SerialNumber: XXXXXXXXXOwner: Node1InstalledLicense: ONTAPONE
SerialNumber: XXXXXXXXXOwner: Node1InstalledLicense: ONTAPOnewithEncryption
  • Both licenses include encryption-related packages (VE, TPM), and both map to the protocol ONTAP_ONE_ENC_CAP_3.
