How to halt a single node with takeover in an ONTAP cluster

Description

  • During an ONTAP takeover the default action is for the node to reboot into a Waiting for Giveback state
  • This article describes an alternate method where the node is halted after takeover instead of continuing to boot
  • The node will need to be accessed through the SP/BMC or local console cable once halted
