How to determine what switch firmware version ONTAP supports

Description

  • When using cluster interconnect and management switches, it's important to ensure that the firmware on them is compatible with the version of ONTAP that's installed on the storage.
  • Running an unsupported configuration could lead to unintended behavior on the system.

Procedure

Steps
  1. Navigate to the Hardware Universe site.
  2. Select switches on the top menu.
  3. Use the menu on the left side to filter switches by type or vendor.
  4. Once the appropriate switch has been selected, click on supported firmware.
  5. Select the version of ONTAP installed on the storage, along with the current platform configuration in use.
  6. The page will display the supported switch firmware based on the above criteria.
