Answer

  • It is not possible to reduce a volume's size below the total amount of data it holds.
  • There will be an impact of snapshots and compression on the amount of space that can be reclaimed.
  • For iSCSI, If thin provisioning is used, disable space reservation and run space reclamation to free up space.
  • If the volume is a SnapMirror source, ensure autosize configuration of SnapMirror destination volume is meet the requirement, or resize the destination volume manually.
