Constant link break seen at storage due to FCP command failures

Issue

  • When NetApp storage port attempts to login to fabric all commands show as failure

[netapp-01: fct_tpd_work_thread_0: scsitarget.slifct.wqeError:debug]: FC port 2a has a WQE processing failure of type SLI_IO_FC_CT, command RSPN_ID, subtype x2, with status of 3 and an extended status x4 for NPIV port 0.

  • Invalid transmission word being recorded  at storage indicating an issue with SFP 
  • Switch side SFP has been replaced already, however the issue continued
