Cannot delete clones on fully joined cluster. Reason: Operation is not permitted

Applies to

ONTAP 9.13.1 or higher with a mixed version of ONTAP.
 

Issue

  • After nodes were joined to a mixed version cluster with ONTAP 9.12.1 or lower and ONTAP 9.13.1 or higher.
  • Cannot delete clones while logged into the nodes with the new version of ONTAP (9.13.1 or higher).

      "volume recovery-queue purge -vserver svm1 -volume <volume_name>"
      command. To recover the volume use the (privilege:advanced) "volume
      recovery-queue recover -vserver svm1 -volume <volume_name>" command.

  • Can delete clones while logged into nodes with the older ONTAP versions (9.12.1 or lower).
