Cannot change to new default-site, because old default-site no longer exists

Issue

  • cifs server show says that current default-site is OLD_SITE
  • When attempting to change default-site to NEW_SITE, get error: 
    • ::> cifs modify -vserver svm -cifs-server SVM -default-site NEW_SITE
      Error: command failed: Failed to determine if site NEW_SITE is a valid default site. Reason: SecD Error: no server available.
  • EMS says
    • Wed Sep 20 15:20:35 -0500 [node-02: secd: secd.unexpectedFailure:error]: Unexpected SecD failure in Vserver "svm". Details: Error: Validate site procedure failed
      [ 21 ms] No servers found in DNS lookup for _ldap._tcp.OLD_SITE._sites.contoso.net.
      [ 21] No servers available for MS_LDAP_AD, vserver: 7, domain: contoso.net.
      [ 35] No servers found in DNS lookup for _ldap._tcp.OLD_SITE._sites.contoso.net.
      [ 35] No servers available for MS_LDAP_AD, vserver: 7, domain: contoso.net.
      **[ 35] FAILURE: Unable to make a connection (LDAP (Active Directory):CONTOSO.NET), Result: RESULT_ERROR_SECD_NO_SERVER_AVAILABLE
