Issue

  • CPU starvation reported for RDB processes:

Sun May 18 04:48:46 +0900 [Nodename: vifmgr: rdb.node.starvation:error]: CPU starvation detected in the RDB.

Note: There may also be output for applications other than vifmgr, such as bcomd or crs.

  • vifmgr service becomes offline and LIFs are removed.
    • This causes followings:
      • ONTAP System Manager cannot be accessed.
      • File shares cannot be accessed.
  • The following additional events may be seen in EMS:
    • monitor.ioCard.degraded
    • configbr.backupFailed
    • vifmgr.reach.err
    • vifmgr.startup.failover.err
    • vifmgr.dbase.checkerror
    • vifmgr.startup.failover.err
