Issue

  • ONTAP upgrade paused on error because the giveback of SFO aggregates fails.
    [phx-e3-rn-nas01-ctrl15: notifyd: callhome.andu.pausederr:alert]: params: {'subject': 'AUTOMATED NDU PAUSED ON NODE: node1', 'epoch': 'ff9b316e-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-4ef9c772675b'}

    [node1: upgrademgr: upgrademgr.update.pausedErr:error]: The automated update of the cluster has been paused due to the following reason:  Node "node1": Error: {Giveback of SFO aggregates failed.}, Action: {Use the "storage failover show-giveback" command to view the cause of the giveback failure and the suggested corrective action. When the giveback failures are corrected, use the "storage failover giveback -ofnode node2" command to trigger the giveback.}.
  • Storage failover show giveback displays the following reason:

cluster1::>storage failover show-givebackFailed: Destination cannot receive the aggregate. Check failed by disk_inventory. Check the event log.

  • Motherboard status was in degraded due to the health alert NodeIfInErrorsWarnAlert on port e8a of node node2.

  • Port e8a has high CRC errors.
