ANDU paused as the node fails to boot up

Issue

  • The system might fail to POST and reach the LOADER prompt.
  • BIOS is stuck in a reset loop, such as the following:

    BIOS Version: 16.8
    PEI start.
    CPU PEI initialization.
    Wait BMC self-test result.
    BMC self-test: OK.
    UPI initialization.
    CPU initialization.
    Running full memory initialization.
    CPU reset.
    BIOS Version: 16.8
    PEI start.
    CPU PEI initialization.
    Wait BMC self-test result.
    BMC self-test: OK.
    UPI initialization.
    CPU initialization.
    Running full memory initialization.
    SPI FLASH: Primary BIOS
    PEI end.
    DXE start.
    USB initialization.
    PCI host bridge initialization.
    CSM initialization.
    PCI Bus initialization start.
    BDS start.
    Console output devices connect.

  • While in this state the BMC remains fully functional and can be accessed remotely or from the serial console via Ctrl-G.
