Issue

  • Hot-swap removal of a network I/O module fails when that module has active hardware TLS offload sessions.
  • The module remove command fails with:

Error: command failed: Cannot remove module because the module is busy. Wait a few minutes, and then try the command again. If the problem persists, contact technical support
  • EMS reports the failed module removal:

hotplug.generic.busy_not_ready: Module remove command failed for module in slot <slot> of node <node> because the driver or system is busy.
  • Ports in the affected slot can remain down after the failed removal.
  • The module cannot be removed safely until the active sessions release it.
