Snapmirror causes high CPU utilization

Issue

  • Monitoring systems trigger alerts for high CPU on one or more storage nodes

Example: 

    • Unified manager: Node Utilization Warning Threshold Breached,Node Utilization Warning Threshold Breached it is currently now 100%  message during SnapMirror replication.
    • Logic Monitor: NetApp Node ClusterA-01 is reporting high CPU utilization of 99.4376 %, placing the node into critical state.
  • High CPU utilization observed with no front-end workload
  • CPU may increase some with some frontend workload.
