Qtree level exports behave differently after migration to ONTAP 9

  • After migration from 7-Mode to ONTAP 9, NFS exports at the qtree level behave differently
  • When you don't want to allow clients read or write access to the volume where qtree lives
In ONTAP 9, for a client to mount a qtree, the client needs to be added to the volume policy, resulting in ability for client to pass through the volume also.
