Nodes down due to legitimate under temperature issues in ONTAP 9

Issue

  • Both nodes shutdown
  • ONTAP reports the following error prior to nodes shutting down:

HA Group Notification (CHASSIS POWER DEGRADED)

  • EMS Logs show:

 

[?] Wed Dec 21 18:22:31 0000 [NETAPPCLUS-01: env_mgr: monitor.chassisTemperature.cool:alert]: Chassis temperature is too cool: Midplane 3 Temp is warning low (5 C).
[?] Wed Dec 21 18:22:31 0000 [NETAPPCLUS-01: env_mgr: monitor.chassisTemperature.cool:alert]: Chassis temperature is too cool: Midplane 4 Temp is warning low (5 C).
[?] Wed Dec 21 18:22:31 0000 [NETAPPCLUS-01: env_mgr: monitor.chassisTemperature.cool:alert]: Chassis temperature is too cool: Ambient Temp is warning low (5 C).
