Issue

  • Files are missing from multiple datastores distributed across multiple volumes in aggregate
  • The volumes involved in the incident do not show file system degradation
  • The aggregate containing the affected volumes does not show physical degradation or RAID issues
  • PHY Count is observed at 2069
  • Storage paths are working correctly (Multi-Path HA present)
  • SAS topology is compliant with platform specifications and capabilitiesConfiguration is within Hardware Universe parameters for platform, disks, shelves and cabling
  • No shelf faults are observed involving the affected aggregate and volumes
  • Volume clone from snapshot does not contain the missing data
  • Snapshot spill and volume available size changes can be observed due to a major change in data:
