FC port goes offline due to multiple flaps in Fabric MetroCluster system

Issue

  • The FC host adapter starts flapping on a node and is brought offline:

[Node-01: slifc_intrd: fci.link.break:error]: Link break detected on Fibre Channel adapter 2b.
[Node-01: slifc_asyncd_0: fci.adapter.link.online:info]: Fibre Channel adapter 2b link online.
[Node-01: slifc_intrd: fci.link.break:error]: Link break detected on Fibre Channel adapter 2b.
[Node-01: slifc_timeout_0: fci.link.error:error]: Could not recover link on Fibre Channel adapter 2b after 30 seconds. Taking the adapter offline.
[Node-01: slifc_intrd: fci.link.break:error]: Link break detected on Fibre Channel adapter 2b.
[Node-01: lhm_main: callhome.fc.al.link:alert]: Call home for FC-AL LINK_FAILURE (2b)

  • The port status shows offline from the sysconfig -a output:
