FAS2650 Environmental Shutdown (Battery PCT capacity critical)

Issue

  • Node down with NVMEM battery error.
[cluster01:nvmem.battery.capLowCrit:EMERGENCY]: The NVMEM battery capacity is critically low (0 cycles). To prevent data loss, the system will shut down in 20 minutes.
[cluster01:callhome.battery.failure:EMERGENCY]: Call home for BATTERY (capacity low) CRITICAL.
[cluster01:callhome.battery.failure:EMERGENCY]: Call home for BATTERY (full charge capacity low) CRITICAL.
[cluster01:monitor.shutdown.emergency:EMERGENCY]: Emergency shutdown: Environmental Reason Shutdown (Battery PCT capacity critical)
  • event all command of SP show node down after NVMEM battery learning cycle start.

  • system power cycle from SP doesn't resolve the issue and node power status show off.

This command will trigger a destage of ONTAP and will take some time to complete after which the system will restart.
Use "system reset" or "system reset current" to avoid the delay. Continue? [y/n] y
