Ethernet switch is showing degraded due to SwitchReboot_Alert

Issue

  • After the switch reboot, the cluster displays a switch reboot alert in the alert section and the switch-up time is less than 50 days. ONTAP EMS events example:

Tue Jun 25 04:36:52 +0200 [Node-02: cshmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = SwitchReboot_Alert , Alerting Resource = switch-01 raised by monitor ethernet-switch

  • ONTAP generates an alert indicating that a cluster switch has rebooted:

Perceived Severity Minor
Probable Cause Configuration_error
Description The ethernet switch has recently rebooted.
Corrective Actions If the Ethernet switch was not rebooted on purpose, then
check the switch to ensure that it is operating normally.
Possible Effect Communication problems and network connectivity issues might occur.
