Issue

  • When attempting to update NX-OS on a Cisco switch, the pre-upgrade check fails with error 0x404F0003
Switch1# install all nxos bootflash:nxos.9.3.xx.bin
"Failed to process nxos image".
Pre-upgrade check failed. Return code 0x404F0003 (SRG file not present/some modules are not supported in target image).
  • When checking the 'md5sum' of the package, it will either timeout or have an incorrect checksum
Switch1# show file nxos.9.3.11.bin md5sum
